Cayleigh caught her first redfish on a artificial lure! She did awesome, I’m so proud of her! She got to catch her first redfish with her bubba and momma! Now she is hooked! Out in the Trinity Bay at Ft. Anahuac Park on some shell islands. We caught them tailing and chasing some shrimp!
Me and Scuba Steve were out sight catching some tailing redfish. There is no other thrill than sight fishing. Its addicting feeling that line strip off the reel from a nice fish!
Pops and I went to pick up the boat from Polacios. We planned on fishing for just a bit. We kept getting into some small schools of em. Then finally dad caught a good one. Then I seen some blowups in a slew. So I took off my socks and pants and put my boots on and went after em. I caught a good size redfish and a big ol flounder. It was pretty cool. Good times for sure!
Cortni and I went fishing at the San Luis pass in Galveston. We had a good start, right off the bat I caught the redfish. She caught a big Spanish Mackerel working live shrimp on a popping cork. But it’s sharp teeth cut her braided line so we lost it! Then we went to the toll way bridge and were free lining live shrimp. Only to catch some small stingrays and whiting. She hooked into 3 good lunkers and 2 came off and 1 must of been a Spanish Mackerel again cuz her line was cut by sharp teeth again! Then we finished off the day by Bird Island and I caught the speckled trout. She caught some more whiting. Good day of fishing tide went in and out twice and when it went back out things slowed down.
This past weekend I went out fishing Sunday morning and caught some nice slot REDS! I was by myself out there having a blast! They are some great fish to catch cuz they put up some awesome fights! And they taste great too!
